Refunds & Returns-Textbooks - Your books must be in the same condition as when purchased and accompanied by the original, unaltered receipt (photocopies not accepted). New books with handwriting and/or damage may or may not be eligible for return at the discretion of the Textbook Department.
Textbooks may be returned without penalty for the following reasons:
· You return your books before the Bookstore closes on the 1st Friday of classes for the Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer Quarters;
(Fall Quarter September 25th , 2009)
· If you officially change class sections after the "Return Without Penalty" deadline;
· You drop a class in which you were officially enrolled;
· Your class was cancelled and the Bookstore has received notification from the college;
· Your professor has changed textbooks and notified the Bookstore.
Textbook returns will be subject to a 10% penalty for any of the following reasons:
· If you were not officially enrolled in the class (wait listed), and you waited until after the above stated "Returned Without Penalty" deadlines;
· If you do not meet the above stated conditions for a refund without penalty.
In any case, all returns must be completed by Friday October 2nd, 2009 without exception.
Refunds & Returns-Electronic Books - We understand that customers may want to return a digital book for a refund because of various reasons. As there is no physical product, digital books may not be returned to the bookstore once the title is activated. This means refunds are not available for activated digital books. Please contact the bookstore if you need assistance with any technical difficulties related to your digital book purchase. We will replace the digital book file if you encounter technical problems during the download.
Refunds & Returns-General Merchandise - Non-text merchandise may be returned within 7 days of purchase for a refund or exchange, unless otherwise stated, when accompanied by the original, unaltered receipt (photocopies not accepted). Items purchased on sale are not eligible for refund or exchange.
Refunds & Returns-Computer Software / Hardware - All SALES FINAL on ALL Computers, regular stock and special orders, Hardware and Software.
Accessories - May be returned if unopened in original packaging and resalable condition with the original receipt WITHIN 7 DAYS of purchase. Defective Merchandise - We will gladly exchange any defective merchandise unless the manufacturer's warranty requires other means of replacement or repair. For all defective Apple Products please go to an Apple Store Genius Bar.The Bookstore does not knowingly sell defective merchandise. *** Some manufacturers offer a 30-day trial period. The condition of this type of sale is with the manufacturer of the software and not with the Bookstore, in such cases, you must deal directly with the manufacturer.***
Non-returnable Merchandise - Some Merchandise cannot be returned to the Bookstore for any reason: College Schedules, College Catalogs, Calculators, Scantrons, Parscores, Bluebooks, VTA Passes, magazines, Computer Hardware or Software, Special Orders.
Defective Merchandise - We will gladly exchange any defective merchandise unless the manufacturer's warranty requires other means of replacement or repair. The Bookstore will never knowingly sell defective merchandise.
Returned Checks - If you write a check to us on which payment is refused by your bank, you may be subject to certain fees besides the fees levied by your bank. The fee for a returned check is $25.00 payable in cash, money order or cashier's check (sorry, no personal checks accepted) at the bookstore. You MUST make payment in full or provide us with a letter from your bank indicating their error within 30 days. Failure to respond within 30 days to our request for payment will result in your check being referred to the Santa Clara District Attorney's office.
